Muff Festival 2014 is about to get into full swing over the coming 24 hours. Fun, frolics, entertainment, sport and so very much more will be in store. There will certainly be something for everyone.
The festival will have the official opening parade tomorrow evening with some eye catching floats, and tonight sees the introduction of the first ever ‘bar olympics’ at Kenny’s in Quigleys Point. Teams of two should register before 8.30pm tonight. It promises to be a good one!
Following the parade tomorrow evening there will be the annual ‘festival Queen dance’ in the Squealing Pig. Route 66 will be providing the music. Then over the weekend there will be lots of entertainment, craft, food, pets, bake off, soap box derby, and so very much more happening throughout Saturday and Sunday. Check the festival programme for a full listing of events. Most local retail outlets will have programmes instore.
At present the weather isn’t looking too hopeful for the weekend, but that never stopped Muff before. Cullens amusements are already setting up in the festival field, so some outrageous antics can be had from tomorrow evening there. As for the rain, just have wellies, raincoats and brollys at the ready. Bit of rain never put a dampner on us before.
And as you venture through the village over the weekend you never know who or what you might meet. Just be prepared.
