Moville's BeatlesFest

Rock Legend Henry McCullough payed a weekend visit to Moville in preparation for his gig there at the Bar-A-Cuda at next weekend's BeatlesFest on the Lough.

Like the perfectionist that he is he wanted to make sure that everything is just right for his performance there on Saturday 15th of September.

Paul McCartney only played in two bands - the Beatles and Wings - and Henry McCullough was his lead guitarist in Wings after he left The Beatles replacing, effectively, George Harrison as Paul McCartney's guitarist.

Indeed Henry played the solo guitar on the classic Wings song My Love.

Great Town

"It's a great little town Moville" said Henry on his visit here on Sunday.

He also heaped praise on the Bar-A-Cuda where he will play.

"I didn't even know that there was a place likes this here" he told proud owner Mike Murphy. "This is a great location for rock bands. This is the kind of place I love to play. I'm really looking forward to playing here. I might even come back and play a solo act here again" he told the delighted Mike.

Only Irishman at Woodstock

Henry was the only Irishman to play at Rock's greatest ever concert Woodstock which attracted half-a-million people in the sixties. He played there with Joe Cocker.

He had a look at Moville's beautiful shore walk whilst he was here and the view across Lough Foyle from Bath Green and pronounced that he was really looking forward to his weekend here.

He was also taken to Rosatos, recently voted Ireland's top pub by the readers of www.RateMyPub.ie to be shown the area 'getaway' area outside round the back, where the bands will be recorded playing a song for the documentary by film crew KillerSnail Film Productions.
