Moville Regatta Raft Race Result

As ever a good crowd of several hundred people assembled to see the Raft Race.

There were about 10 rafts entered.

The water was perfect for the race being pretty becalmed.

A couple of years back most of the rafts capsized in the choppy waters after they rounded the pier.

Dark Clouds

It wasn't much of a day though with dark clouds and spits of rain.

However, there wasn't any real downpour during the race to send people scurrying off.

Good Win

It was very close between the first two rafts for about half of the race between Norris's raft Feed The Horse and the Carman raft.

However, the Norris's raft gradually pulled cleared to win quite convincingly.

The Raft Race is one of the great events in the Moville calendar and it didn't disappoint.
