DylanFest
Moville is abuzz with excitement as news spreads that the first DylanFest ever to take place in Ireland is going to be in their town.
The DylanFest will take start on the Friday night of June 29th and finish on the Sunday night of July 1st.
Most of the music will take place in the pubs but there will be at least one street band on the Saturday night and maybe another one on the Friday night.
News Spreading Fast

Already news of the festival is spreading fast amongst Dylan fans and one local man has had all his holiday apartments booked up for that weekend by Dylan fans even though the DylanFest had not been announced and he had not yet heard of it himself.
Said lifelong Dylan fan Paddy McLaughlin “I'm so proud that I can actually tell music fans from other towns that they should come to my town for a big musical event rather than I go to theirs”.
International Bands
Dylan bands and acts from the UK, Belgium, France and from all over Ireland have been booked to appear..
Already The Town Clock, Rosatos, Rawdons, McGettigans, the Bar-A-Cuda and Maguires have signed up to the DylanFest and others are expected to follow.
Music in Moville

Said event organiser Gerry McLaughlin of www.CraicOn.com “The success of the summer Moville Festival and the Traditional Music Festival in February shows that if Moville puts on a good event people will come. Already the DylanFest shows signs of perhaps being Moville's biggest ever Festival. Word of it is spreading like wildfire even before the official announcement of the festival”.
There will be music sessions on Friday, Saturday afternoon, Saturday evening, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon and Sunday night.
Night Titles
“Belgium's top Dylan Band the 6-piece The New Fools will open the DylanFest in the main square of the town”, said organiser Gerry McLaughlin. The Friday night will have the title “Come Gather Round People”. The Saturday night will have the title of “Stuck inside of Moville” and the Sunday night will be called “No Direction Home”. Dylan fans will understand the allusions.
Band Bookings
Ireland's top Dylan band The Phantom Engineers have been booked for the Malin Road on Saturday evening.

“I've been surprised how many Dylan bands just want to come here and play for expenses only” said Gerry. ”They all just want to be here and to be part of Ireland's first ever DylanFest".
Celebs in Moville?
“Many of the top artists in the music industry today look up to Bob Dylan and are big fans and so as news speads there just might be a few celebrities strolling around Moville in the last weekend in June. It would be great to see Moville at the centre of the musical world for a weekend".
"The Moville people, as always, will make their guests very welcome. The Festival needs more Dylan performers as there is a big demand from the pubs, so anyone who plays Dylan professionally should get in touch”.
