Ireland's Only BeatlesFest

The Foyle Hotel and Rosatos have booked their acts for the BeatlesFest from September 14th to 16th.

The standard of the acts who want to play the BeatlesFest is pretty high - higher again I would say than the DylanFest and that was pretty good.

Rosatos Selections

Rosatos were first away and have selected Lisa Peters for the Friday night, Rob Smith for the Saturday night and Celine Burke for the Sunday night.

You can read about them, watch their videos and listen to their songs here:-

Lisa Peters

Rob Smith

Celine Burke

Great Choices

It's three great choices.

These three are playing for little more than expenses because they want to play the BeatlesFest in Moville.

Lisa Peters has had 25,000 hits on her MySpace site and 18,000 plays for her song - and she only joined 8 weeks ago. Listen to her song This is my Sweet goodbye.

She is going to be a big star.

Rob Smith wasn't available for the Friday at Rosatos as he will be recording for TV on that date.

Celine Burke is top class and I'm told supported Declan O'Rourke recently.

Foyle Hotel Bookings

The Foyle Hotel has booked Michael Hargan from Glasgow and AER a 5-piece band from Derry.

AER, from Derry, will play the Friday night in The Foyle and it will be interesting to hear a 5-piece band there belting out the Beatles numbers as well as their own.

Michael Hargan is a big, big act. His MySpace entry says:-

"His touring has also included sold-out headline dates in Scotland, Ireland and New York, and invitations to headline shows at festivals such as the prestigious Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow and The Film Fleadh Foundation (Craic festival) in New York City. He will be playing full band shows at Festivals during the summer including a main stage spot at The Big In Falkirk Festival in Front of an estimated 100,000 people".

He wants to play, to get a break from recording, and I've emailed him back saying that he's wanted so let's hope he's still available and wants to add Ireland's only BeatlesFest to the list of gigs that he will be playing.

More Bookings

They are just the first of the acts to be booked.

Tomorrow I will be adding more bookings for the BeatlesFest on the Lough.

It's fantastic to be able to get some of these great acts to come to Moville.

Watch this space.
