Moville's BeatlesFest
Film and documentary company KillerSnail Film Productions will be coming to Moville for the BeatlesFest from September 14th to 16th.
They will be making a fly-on-the-wall documentary about Ireland's only festival of Beatles music.
Running Smoothly
The BeatlesFest is also getting help from four third year Music Technology students to make sure that everything runs smoothly as far as the sound is concerned and that the pubs have the right sound equipment that the bands need if any is needed at all.
There were some problems in this area at the DylanFest so this will give us extra insurance.
Recording
The girls will, probably in conjunction with KillerSnail Film Productions, record as much music as they can at the weekend.
Ireland's first ever DylanFest came and went without it being recorded or filmed so it is now lost to posterity.
If anyone has any film of the DylanFest it may be worth something in a few years time if it grows to be a regular feature of the Moville calendar.
Getaway Area
There will also be a get-away area (as happens at Glastonbury etc.) where they grab the bands, interview them and get them to play a song which they film and record.
The get-away area is going to be out the back of Rosatos either inside or outside.
There is actually a roof there too and it might be possible to record some of the bands and singers performing on the roof (as the Beatles did).
Documentary
KillerSnail Film Productions are so keen to do this (they are all big Beatles fans and want to come up for the weekend anyway) that they are going to do it free of charge and then try to sell on the documentary to one of the major TV channels.
It's building up to a great weekend.
