Stratospheric in Moville
They quit college after just 6 months to go full time with their band.
They wanted to give themselves the best chance they could to make it as musicians.
They were prepared to lay it on the line and gamble that they could make it to the top as a band.
On Their Way
And guess what?
They are on their way to doing so.
They currently have a CD of three songs out at the moment which costs €7 and can be bought at the Purple Shop in James Street.
Rosatos in Moville
They play about once a month in Rosatos in Moville and they were there on Saturday night.
They are only about 21 years of age and every time I hear them they seem to have improved a little more.
Let's hope they are able to play Moville a bit more before they really crack the big time.
Saturday Night
They were great on Saturday night at Rosatos.
They have sort of bluesy / jazzy sound and they play many of the classics from the sixties and seventies era.
Ex-Hard Rockers
When they first started they used to play had rock of the Deep Purple / Led Zeppelin variety with great energy but have moved away from that.
There was certainly no one shouting 'Judas' though on Saturday night.
Benny Doherty's hair is even a lot shorter than it was during the 'wildmen of rock' days.
Building a Following
They have built their base in the Inishowen area but are starting to spread their wings more and more with gigs in Derry and Belfast.
One would say that it wouldn't be too long before we see them only on holiday or in the newspapers or TV.
Catch them while you can.
