All the Craic in Moville, Donegal
I first heard Stratospheric at McGrory's in Culdaff in the Backroom.
I thought they were sensational. They were playing hard rock like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water and they were playing it with fire - and they were all so young.
This was about 3 years ago and they are still only about 21.
They were in total control of their instruments and the lead singer really belted out the hard rock numbers.
40th Birthday
The next time I heard of them was at a 40th birthday party at McGrory's that my sister and her husband attended.
There were about six bands playing but my brother-in-law was raving about this one young band.
Yes, it was Benny and the boys.
Support Base
It seems that after a brief six-month spell at college they decided to go for it and put everything into the band and build a base of support in Derry, Belfast and Donegal.
Two of them also play every 4th Saturday at Rosato's Bar in the Malin Road, Moville. There they tend to play the classic songs from the 60s and 70s.
Great Future
If they can write their own songs then I'm sure they are going to make it big.
See them whilst you can. You'll be able to tell people you saw them before they made it big.
They are playing Rosato's tonight, 27th December.
