Traditional Music Craic in Moville

The big day that the people of Moville and the Traditional Music Community have been awaiting, the first day of the Festival, has at last arrived.

There's a Woodstock, or at least a Glastonbury, type of atmosphere in Moville late Friday afternoon, as the traditional music followers and musicians have started to arrive in the town.

There's no chance of the visitors to the Movillefest being flooded out though as they put their feet up in the comfortable settings of the likes of The Foyle Hotel and Barrons Cafe.

The Buzz

There's a great sense of anticipation as the venues, Rosatos, Rawdons, Foyle Hotel and the Aqua Music Bar (Eggman), prepare to host the 2nd Moville Traditional Music Festival.

Last year's first event was a big success but this year is expected to be even busier.

The Foyle Hotel, where many of the musicians and the trad music followers will be staying (and carousing) is already getting into the spirit of the Festival.

Look In

CraicOn.com will be reporting extensively on the festival with reports and pictures of the sessions.

If you're out and about you may be in them.

Good Organisation

One of the good things about the Festival this year is the organisation of the Saturday afternoon sessions.

There will be two afternoon sessions with two of the pubs hosting music from 1:30pm till 3:30pm and the other two pubs from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.

That will give afficionados of trad music a chance to see all the musicians.

It will also give the musicians a bit of a break before the night sessions.

Guest Players

Even better still it will give those traditional music followers who also play, an opportunity to grab the guitar and play whilst the booked musicians rest up for the evening session.

The unscheduled sessions were one of the highlights from last year and there is lots more opportunity for it this year.
