Lawrence Hackett

Lawrence Hackett, who won the Singer / Songwriter contest late last year at the Sean Ti in Greencastle, is coming back to sing his winning song at the launch of the Moville & Greencastle Music Academy on Friday.

The song was described as 'spine tingling' by one of the spectators.

Lawrence told ICR that many of the other songwritershad said to him that they hoped his song won.

Finale

When he went up to sing it again at the finale many of the crowd joined in with him an d there were even a couple of lit lighters held up.

Now, those that witnessed it will be able to see him and again and those that didn't see him will get a chance to see and hear him this Friday.

Lawrence, who hails from Cork but now lives in Derry, hasn't even made a CD yet and has played few gigs.

We could be in at the start of a great new talent.

One local journalist described the song as "One of the best songs I've heard this year (2011)".

Finalists

Both of his songs made the final 7.

They are both very good, but he sings them with great passion.

The crowd holds onto his every note and syllable.

Don't miss him on Friday.
