Steph Buhe
Steph Buhe, from France, played fantastic sets at Rawdons on the Friday night of the both previouss DylanFest where he had the whole crowd rocking and singing along with him.
So much so that he has already been booked for the Friday night slot this year again. Steph plays all the Dylan songs that everybody knows so they are all able to sing along with him.
He will also open the DylanFest again on the Thursday night in Rosatos. That was a great night last year as most of the musicians who would play at the festival were there and a lot of them got up to play when Steph had a break and after he was finished.
He will also kick off the unplugged Open Mic event in the scenic grounds of the Gulladuff Hostle which has Ireland's oldest bridge, reputedly built by St. Patrick when he was at the local monastery beside Cooley Cross.
With his distinctive black outfit and hat he was a familiar face about Moville during the DylanFest and was hailed very often in the streets and told how much people had enjoyed his performances.
He was delighted that everyone was singing along with him as in France fewer people know the words to the songs.
Asked for a comment recently Steph said "I have really good remembrance. What is pleasant is sharing music with people and other musicians. Moville's people seems to be very simple so I hope it will be the same this year, that everybody have pleasure in the Dylanfest by singing or listening to music".
Before he loses his popularity in Moville it has to be pointed out the the word 'simple' in French has a slightly different meaning than in English and is meant positively and not negatively.
Buick 6
They are a local Moville band which contains Paddy "The Shoe" and anyone who he cares to invite to join him.
They played on the Sunday night at Rosatos last year and were highly appreciated, so much so that they were invited to play at a gig down he country.
The atmosphere was like a Dylan equivalent of Last Night at the Proms with the other musicians who had played at the DylanFest letting their hair down and playing along with Buick 6 on some Dylan numbers.
Paddy has long been the best musician in Moville. He has a great knowledge of the influence of Irish music on Bob Dylan, especially from Dylan's first days in New York's Greenwich Village, when Liam Clancy took him under his wing and he used to regularly go and watch the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem play.
It seems that One of Dylan's songs is based on a Traditional Irish tune.
We are hoping to get Paddy to give a talk on Dylan's Irish influences sometime during the festival.
Marian and Brendan
Marian and Brendan regularly have a regular gig at The Cobblestone in Dublin and play Whelan's sometimes as well. They are well known on the Dublin circuit.
Marian's sister Eleanor McEvoy is a well know Irish singer.
Nadia Lowe
Nadia played last year's DylanFest in Manchester at the end of August and comes highly recommended by the organisers of the Acousticfest as it is called.
She played a highly acclaimed Reggae version fo Dylan's All Along The Watchtower and has promised to sing it again at Moville's DylanFest.
She'll be playing the Town Clock on the Friday night.
Teraways
The Teraways can be anything from 2-piece to 5-piece and have played Open Mics at the previous two DylanFests.
Marian has played at the South Bank Festival in London.
Husband Nigel has played various festivals and must surely be the only person in Inishowen to have met and spoken with legend Johnny Cash.
They will be supporting Steph Buhe on both of his Rosatos gigs and will be playing at Open Mics at Gulladuff Hostel and at the Moville Putting Green Cafe.
Mickey the Hat
Michael Roberts from North Wales also played last year's Manchester Dylanfest and played last year at The Waterfront and at Open Mic night on. He was very popular with the DylanFest afficionados when playing some of Dylan's more obscure numbers.
