Kealey's
The Sick and Indigent Song Club from Dublin came up from Dublin in 2009 to play at the BeatlesFest in Moville.
They were the stars of the show, especially on the Saturday night at Rosatos which was mobbed for four solid hours.
Recently they played at the Electirc Picnic.
Maritime Museum
They were due to come up last weekend to play at the Sean Ti on the Friday night and at the Maritime Museum on the Saturday evening.
Unfortunately the Sean Ti cancelled the Friday night gig as something had come up.
Also, possible because of the weather, the event in the Maritime in Greencastle wasn't as well attended as was hoped for and they just played for an hour.
All Over
So, they had come all the way up to Moville from Dublin just to play for an hour or so.
It was all over by 8pm.
There was discussions as to what they should do.
Rosatos
If they had called Moville and asked around they would have found that the singer who was supposed to play Rosatos had failed to turn up and they could have got the gig there.
However, as they were in Greencastle they thought they'd just go into Kealey's and ask to play there.
There weren't many there.
I'm told that there was a wedding that day and many were out of the town.
Played
There was about half a dozen there maybe and the Sick and Indigent Song Club wanted to play.
So, play they did to perhaps their smallest audience.
It was great fun and the girl behind the bar chipped in and sung a few Irish songs.
She's a very good singer and the 'Sickos' were impressed - Faulkner I think her name is.
Good Night
All in all it was a very good night.
It's just a shame a few more people couldn't have enjoyed it.
However, they will be back up again in October to play the OctoberFest in Moville and will play Rosatos and maybe the Town Clock.
