Business
Local businessmen and women are reporting that, after a bleak winter, things have started to pick up quite well over the last week or two.
The shops and restaurants have been busier than they have been.
I wonder if it is the sun that has cheered people up and brought them out to spend money again.
TradFest
Some people have told me that the TradFest had a bit of an effect too.
Reportedly, there were quite a few 'strangers' about the town on the Tradfest weekend.
People in Moville always seem to know and notice when there are 'strangers' about.
Presumably they were spending money about the town.
Sunny Days
It's too early to say if this is a one off caused by a few sunny days or whether it will continue.
However, it is traditionally a quiet time of year so it is nice for the town to get a boost ahead of St. Patrick's Day and the end of Lent at Easter time.
Let's hope that sterling can pick up a bit before the summer festivals.
