Temperature
Some research has just been published showing the temperatures at which girls and boys do best at school.
Some schools skimp on the heating in order to use the money for other things.
However, research proves that this is counterproductive.
Pupils don't learn well when they are cold.
Boys and Girls
It seems that boys learn best when the temperature is 21 degrees.
That's the temperature on a good summer's day.
Astonishingly girls learn best at 24 degrees.
Warm
We all know how girls don't like the cold and dominate the warmest parts of the house.
It looks like their best operating temperature is quite high.
That's the equivalent of a very good summer's day.
It also seems that they have better attention spans than boys as the best length of school lesson is an hour long for them whereas for boys it is 30 minutes.
So, presumably boys prefer single periods and girls double periods.
It might be better for schools to have single periods of 30 minutes rather than 40 and mix it up with double periods of an hour each.
Good Advice
It's also good advice for parents too.
If you have a boy studying for his exams keep the room they are studying at 21 degrees and they will shine.
It is is a girl you have keep it at 24 degrees and they will prosper.
When exams are important every litlle bit of helpful information is important.
