Angie McLaughlin plays in Dublin with her band The Sick and Indigent Song Club in places like Whelan's.
They've played The Electric Picnic the last four years and appeared for 15 minutes playing and talking on The Pat Kenny Show. They played in Rosatos and the Town Clock at the BeatlesFest this year and some said that was the Gig of the Year in Moville.
Now, they've made a CD called Punch Drunk, with Angie having written 5 of the songs. One of the songs "I Wanna Whistle Like My Sister Kate" was written about her sister Kate McLaughlin who lives in Moville and works in the Credit Union and McFeeleys.
The song was one of the songs on the RTE1 Playlist of the Week, along with Stereophonics, Norah Jones, Frank Sinatra, Ronan Keating, Paul Casey and The Waterboys for a full five weeks - virtually unprecedented for a new Irish Band.
The CD, Punch Drunk, is now on sale here for €12.50. Just email me here
It can also be purchased at McFeeley's, Rosatos, The Farm Shop and Gillen's.
