She makes the DylanFest / BeatlesFest posters that fly off the wall

Aine Parkinson has designed most of the posters and flyers for both the BeatlesFests and DylanFests in Moville for the four years that they have been going.

She used to live in Moville with her sister Movania Parkinson before going back to live and work in her native Sheffield.

Said Dylanfest / BeatlesFest organiser Gerry McLaughlin “Aine surpassed herself this year at the DylanFest. The posters she designed were so popular that people were stealing them from the walls of the pubs and restaurants. It was mainly young girls in their late teens or early twenties.

"One of them lifted a poster off the wall at the entrance to Rosatos and when it got caught in the door and fell backwards onto the floor of the pub she simply picked it up and left. She was quite brazen about it”.

More Posters

“I had had calls from Rosatos on the Friday and the Saturday asking me to bring more posters up as the previous ones had been stolen. The call came again on the Sunday and my father had to run up with them as I wasn’t there”.

It seems that on the Monday morning after the festival the entire town was stripped bare of posters. According to one shop owner “I came in on the Monday morning and asked where all the posters had gone and was told that quite a few people had come in and asked for them saying that the DylanFest was over. I had quite fancied one myself”.

Coming Across

Aine, who has never seen a DylanFest or BeatlesFest will be coming to the BeatlesFest for the first time.

Said Aine “I’m so excited to be coming over for the BeatlesFest and looking forward to both seeing Moville and old friends again and meeting Tony Bramwell, the Beatles road manager and asking him a few questions.

Aine has surpassed herself again with her poster for this year’s BeatlesFest taking the images from the iconic cover of The Beatles Abbey Road album and transposing it onto Moville’s main road.

Best Ever

Said Gerry “This is the best yet. I was delighted when I saw it. Her brief was to design another one that would ‘fly off the walls’, a sort of Tommy Hilfiger effect - but I didn’t expect this.

"I’m going to have to get more of them made and make sure the pubs and shops are well stocked. Maybe we should start selling them".
