Rodeo

Moville is hosting its first ever Rodeo Bull night on Saturday at the Caiseal Mara.

And what a night it should be.

It is being held in aid of the Moville Rowing Club, who can be seen rowing from the slipway by the old pier every Tuesday and Thursday evenings (all new members welcome).

One of those mechanical bucking broncos has been hired from Endless Amusements and everyone is invited to have a shot.

Saturday

It will take place between 8-11pm on Saturday to be followed by a dance with music by Gael Force 10 from 11:30pm to 2am (despite it saying on the ticket that it will be going on till 2pm).

The cost of this evening out is €10 a ticket.

Tickets can be obtained from Lucy White or any other member of the rowing club.

It should cap off a great day on the water for the Rowing Club's Open Day when they take on teams from other Rowing Clubs.

Have a Go

I remember having a go on one of those mechanical bucking broncos when I was on holiday in Spain when I was in my late twenties.

It was a lot of fun.

I stayed on for a good while but they always get you in the end as they can just increase the speed that the bull thrashes about.

I don't think, in my present state of fitness, that I'll be having a shot this time but I'll definitely go and watch others take on the raging bull and go flying through the air.

Perhaps the Caiseal Mara might keep the bull on afterwards.

It would be handy for chucking people out the door.
