Moville
Moville and its people took a temporary break from their woes over the Christmas period and turned out in force to party in the two nights since Christmas.
It was slow getting going as there weren't many people out before Christmas but the Saturday and Sunday nights made up for it.
Mobbed
Rosatos was mobbed on both nights and reports came back that Rawdons was too.
I was told, also, that the Caiseal Mara (or McNamaras as some still call it) was mobbed on Saturday night when there was a band playing.
I didn't hear about the other pubs but I'm sure they were crowded too.
New Year
It will be interesting to see if that continues over the next few days - although I know that New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are sure to be very busy.
As November and the first half of December were very bad months for the trade locally, it looks as if people were saving up for Christmas.
One would expect that there will be a big fall off once the New Year is over and the dark months of January and February beckon.
Movilllians
However, it's good to see people out enjoying themselves.
Many of the people out were Movillians who were home for the holidays - bringing out with them friends and family still living in Moville.
