Scoil Eoghain

The Principal of Scoil Eoghain is locked in a power struggle with both the Board of Management of the school and with the parents of the children at the school.

So, much so that the Board of Management under the leadership of Fr. Peter Devlin reversed all the new rules that Gerry McGeehan had put in just yesterday that caused so much uproar.

Meeting

Indeed a message was sent out to all parents from the Scoil Eoghain Parents Association as follows:-

"Emergency Meeting - Extraordinary General Meeting

An emergency extraordinary general meeting will be held on Wednesday 9th December at 8:30pm in the general Purpose room. This meeting has been called to discuss parent's concerns regarding the recent behaviour of the Principal in the school. We strongly encourage all parents to attend this meeting".

Message

The Board of Management sent out this message to all parents:-

"8th December

Dear Parents / Guardians

The Board of Management wishes to confirm that all changes made yesterday by the Principal have been reversed and the previous instructions made by the Baord are to be followed.

Pupils are required to wear plimsolls inside the building.

They will enter and leave the building by the main front door.

They will use the main staircase inside the building.

The extra staircases and doors at the ends of the building will be used for their design purpose, that is, for emergency use only.

They will not be using the area at the back of the building during playtimes since that is the one area where vehicles have access.

The Board wishes to reassure parents that the safety and welfare of your children is of paramount importance to it, and that whatever intervention and decissions necessary to ensure that, will be taken by the Board.

Please feel welcome to contact me at anytime about any matter of concern to you. (Telephone number supplied)

Yours truly,

Rev Peter Devlin, Chairperson, Board of Management
