Moville's DylanFest mentioned on Ryan Tubridy show

DylanFest

Ryan Tubridy turned over his show from 9am to 10am this morning to Bob Dylan as today is Dylan's birthday.

I got a call from Mike Murphy of the Bar-A-Cuda at about quarter past nine this morning to say that Dylan was on the Ryan Tubridy show on RTE1.

I thought it was the TV and turned it on but couldn't find it.

The Phantom Called

Then Jon Carragher of the Phantom Engineers, who so stunned Dylan fans in 2007 and 2008 at the DylanFest on the Lough, to say that it was on.

He told me that it was on the radio so I turned it on.

I them googled the website of the show and sent them an email about it.

Called

I saw the phone number there as well.

I thought I wouldn't get through but I did and I gave details to the girl who answered the phone.

She asked if I would be happy to talk to him and I said I would.

Frustrating Call

I did get a call soon after but it was one of those calls where you can hear things going on in the background but no one is answering -even though you keep saying 'Hello! Hello! Hello".

I still don't know who it was but whilst I was trying to talk to someone I heard the DylanFest mentioned by Ryan Turbridy.

He said that a fan had been in touch to say there was an annual DylanFest in Donegal.

It was only on for about 5 seconds and I don't know whether it resulted from my call or from someone else (maybe Jon Carragher of the Phantoms).

DylanFest Alert

It didn't give any details or where to find information - but at least it has alerted a few people about it.

It wan't much to go on but I was pleased to find that if you typed Dylan and Donegal into Google our festival came top - so hopefully a few people will find us through this route.

I've got the feeling that the DylanFest is going to be big this year.

BeatlesFest

By the way I called the show again and got the same girl (must be his Producer) and told her about the BeatlesFest in August 12th - 15th in Moville and suggested they could mention that on another show about Paul McCartney or the Beatles - perhaps in June when McCartney is on in Dublin.

Ryan Tubridy is a huge Paul McCartney and Beatles fan - so here's hoping.
