DylanFest

The first meeting with the pubs as regards this year's DylanFest will take place this week in Rosatos when we will see how many pubs want to take art this year.

Considering that the first ever DylanFest in Ireland took place 7 weeks after the idea was first mooted it was an amazing success.

Radio and Print

It was featured on the Dave Fanning Show, Downtown Radio, Foyle Radio and ICR amongst others and appeared in HotPress, the Daily Mirror, the Daily Star and umpteen times in the three local newspapers as well as the Donegal News.

Acts from Belgium and France took part as well as from all over Ireland.

Bigger Again

It looks as if this year's DylanFest is going to outdo that of last year.

Already I've had quite a few acts from various countries contact me wanting to play.

Last Year's top Acts

The Phantom Engineers, who topped the bill last year in the Malin Road on the Saturday night want to play again, as does Frenchman Steph Buhe who put on a tremendous set in Rawdons on the Friday night.

The headline act from the Friday night, The New Fools from Belgium, also want to play again.

Lauren Murphy who played the DylanFest after playing the Rory Gallagher concert at Ballyshannon wants to play again.

Germany and Italy

Also, Italy's top Dylan band, who were too expensive last year have cut their price to get in range want to play Moville's DylanFest this year.

Germany's top Dylan band Wilbur, who played at Berlin's DylanFest last year want to play too.

We've also had Dylan acts from North Wales and England who want to play too.

Revealed Shortly

All will be revealed shorty after I meet the pubs this week.

The indications are that the DylanFest is going to be big.

I haven't even started the publicity and I'm getting plenty of contacts already.

This could become a major feature of the Moville Calendar - if it isn't already.
