Moville TradFest

The TradFest will now take place from the 26th to 28th of February.

The pubs involved will be Rosatos, Bar-A-Cuda, Caiseal Mara and Rawdons and the designated hotel will be the Caiseal Mara.

Plans are fluid but this is the latest situation as regards the gigs.

We will keep updating this as new information comes in.


Friday

10:30 - Bar-A-Cuda - Ruairi Cunnane / Terry Conlon / Manuel McFarlane

10:30 – Rosatos - Aoibheanas (with Cecilia Keaveney from 11:30 on)

10:30 – Rawdons – Paddy McLaughlin Seisun (with Cecilia Keaveney from 10:30 to 11:30)


Saturday

1:00 - All comers are invited to turn up at Rosatos to play for a few drinks and maybe a feed and also at the Bar-A-Cuda for a few drinks.

10:30 – Rosatos – Clodagh Warnock, Roisin McGrory,Ted Ponsonby / Edel Mclaughlin

Artists Available


Clodagh Warnock

Clodagh played with top Trad band Deanta who have appeared many times on TV and at many of the top Trad venues. Read more about her here

Roisin McGrory

Roisin is one of the top Trad artists in the Inishowen area and beyond.

Ted Ponsonby

Ted Ponsonby is a nationally known figure in the Trad arena. Has played with Mary Black, Van Morrison and EmmyLou Harris

Edel McLaughlin

She plays piano accordion and writes for Irish Music Magazine.

Ruairi Cunnane

Ruairi is a Belfast based guitarist, bouzouki player & singer from Killeavy South Armagh.

He has been playing music from an early age & has played with several different artists at many folk festival around Ireland & Europe.

Plays in a three-piece with the following two guys, Ryan and Darragh, one of whom is a double All-Ireland Champion.

Ryan O'Donnel

Ryan is a Belfast based Musician from Omagh Co Tyrone. He plays Banjo, Bouzouki, guitar & piano.

Ryan has played in many folk festivals in Ireland & Europe. He is a classically trained pianist who has very successfully migrated to banjo and guitar.

Darragh Murphy

Darragh is a Belfast based musician from Newcastle, County Down. He is a multi instrumentalist including, Banjo, guitar, bouzouki &
twice winner of the all-Ireland Uilleann Pipes competition.

Darragh has played at many Festivals throughout the world.

Aoibheanas

Formed by 4 Derry musicians from a wide range of musical backgrounds. Playing a wide range of traditional Irish ballads, jigs and reels - something for everyone.

Seamus Cradden - Banjo, bouzouki, vocals, guitar, tin whistle:

Seamus who has a background in classical guitar, began playing traditional music on the guitar at 17 and took up banjo at 19. Played with various bands in Derry and Belfast including Aontas, Oisin, Armagh Bandits and member of Jordanstown Traditional Music Society.

Mark Cutter - Vocals, Bodhran, Mandolin:

Mark's background began in Irish Dancing and appeared in the Lord of the Dance as well as winning a number of all-Ireland medals. Bodhran playing reflects his competency for rhythm and later took up mandolin. He is also former member of Aontas.

Ciaran Carlin - Flute, whistles:
All Ireland flute champion, Ciaran is a member of the famous musical Carlin family from Creggan, Derry, and has played with a number of groups around the north west. He is currently studying music at Magee.

Ramon Ferguson - Guitar:

Ramon is efficient with a wide range of musical styles, but uses traditional music as his main focus. Played with a number of groups such as Aontas, the Henry Girls and the Betty Joyce band.

The Bands main influences are Lunasa, Flook, Bothy Band, Mike McGoldrick, Solas, Four Men and a Dog.
