Sports & Fun Day

One of the highlights of the year in the Moville Calendar is the Sports & Fun Day which will take place this Bank Holiday Monday starting at 2pm.

It will move back again to the Bay Field which I think is a good idea.

It's great to see the Bay Field, which has been at the centre of Moville entertainment for many's a year, being used again.

Well Organised

The Sports & Fun Day is always very well organised.

I don't see the Fortune Teller there this year, which is always well attended, but there is a Palm Reader instead.

The younger kids will like the Bouncy Castle.

Pole Fighting

There is also the Pole Fighting contest - and I'm very glad to see our Easter Eurpopean visitors take part in our local activities.

The Nappy Hanging is always very popular - although some will have had more experience of this than others.

I wonder if it is the kind of thing you can practice during the winter.

The Duck Drop should be fun.

Children

Of course, all the kids will be getting their faces painted.

The Bonnie Baby Competition is always popular.

The Summer Festival always held one of those.

Bonnie Babies

It would be interesting to see the winners of the Bonnie Baby Competitions over the years to see how they look now.

Then there is the Mr & Miss Moville Competition.

I wonder why it is just Miss.

Is it like the Miss World contest where you get disqualified if they find you are married?

Maybe it's only for youngsters.

I don't see a Glamorous Granny competition.

I'm sure there will be one though.

Great Day

All in all, it looks like a great day out - if you can fit it in with all the Regatta stuff going on as well.

It should be a great weekend.

A lot of work goes into this by a lot of people and so I hope that they raise plenty of funds for Moville Celtic.

Weather

Let's pray that the weather is good.
