Moville lashed by storms

Moville Storm

Moville was lashed by high winds and tides last night.

Any light sleepers would have been waking up regularly by the sound of the high winds.

The tides were very high as well last night perhaps helped by the new moon.

Pier

I looked across at the pier from my house on the River Row and saw it lashed by high waves.

Anyone standing on the pier could well have been swept off due to the high tides and waves.

Even 20 yards away from the bottom of my garden I could feel the spray from the waves lashing the shore.

I found the cover of my barbecue had been whipped right off of it.

Dark Months

It looks as if the dark months have hit with a vengeance even before the clocks have gone back.

However, don't get down as there is a very good spell of weather to come from Thursday onwards but more of that in a future article if the forecast holds (and it often doesn't).
