Here are the Festivals in Moville for 2012.

July

Moville Vintage Car Rally

Patsy Sweeney Open Boat Competition

Moville Sea Angling Festival

August

Moville Regatta

Raft Race

Patsy Sweeney Open Boat Competition

Foyle Sea Angling Festival

Info

So, where did I get this information?

I got it from that Tourist Information Board at the bottom of the square by the tree opposite Donal's butchers.

It shows the ferry timetable and things to do in Moville area.

A number of local businesses advertise on it.

It seems it is run or administered by a print company from Castleblaney called Concord.

It gives the contact details, if people want to advertise in Moville's main square with them.

Not True

As you must have noticed it is mainly rubbish.

The Sea Angling Festival has been gone many's a year.

I don't think there was ever a Moville Sea Angling Festival AND a Foyle Sea Angling Festival.

The Moville Vintage Car Rally is in early June, not July.

Patsy Sweeney

No one I've asked so far knows who Patsy Sweeney is and don't remember any boat competition.

The Moville Regatta and Raft Race are correct but it doesn't give specific dates so anyone that would want to come to them would have to ask around.

Most Moville people don't look at the Tourist information Board but the visitors do and it is a lost oppoprtunity for Moville that many of our current festivals aren't on there.

It's also a lost opportunity in that the advertising income would be better spent on funding the the festivals that are here rather than going to some company in Castleblaney.
