Snow
The town's children were delighted when a spattering of snow fell on the town on Saturday and even more on Sunday.
It is snowing outside as I write.
They'll be even more delighted if school is off on Monday as seems probable.
Stuck
My son told me that on his way to the River Row from Gulladuff that he saw lots of cars stuck.
At the bottom of the town we saw the Derry bus struggling to get into town as it was blocked by a SKY TV van which was strugging at the bottom of the hill.
Cars coming down Lower Main Street were going down that hill very gingerly.
Ice
The problem is that under the fresh snowfalls there is a layer of ice which is making conditions treacherous for drivers and pedestrians alike.
It seems that this weather will be with us for the next few days.
It may be even longer than that.
The kids will be pleased anway.
