Moville
From the Beatles song Here Comes the Sun by George Harrison:-
Little darling
It's been a long, cold, lonely winter
Little darling
It feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's alright
Little darling
The smiles returning to the faces
Little darling
It seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's alright
Little darling
I see the ice is slowly melting
Little darling
It seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say,
It's alright, it's alright
The Sun
I think that sums up Moville at the moment.
After the cold and dark of winter and the severe recession that's plunged many businesses into trouble and people out of work the sun is at last peeping through.
Fillip
Movillians have been given a bit of a fillip when they have been waking up in the morning with the sun bursting through their bedroom curtains.
For those living away from home the past few days or so have been pretty sunny here in Moville and it's pretty bright now as I sit writing this at 8:30am on a Saturday morning (yes, I am up at this time. I've been up since 7 o'clock).
I can hear birds chirping outside my window (must get the broken handle on my double glazed windows fixed).
More to Come
What's more - there's more of it to come.
The next six days are predicted to be sunny in Moville too - and if anything even brighter than it has been.
The temperatures are not too bad for this time of the year at 7 degrees for most of the next six days.
Spring Coming
The crocus in my back garden is already breaking through and I think we should see the sudden burst of Spring and spring flowers breaking out all over the place.
And anyone fancying a shore walk should get plenty of opportunity to do so over the next 6 days.
Cloud
The only cloud on the horizon is that St. Patrick's day is predicted to be wet - but that's a long way off and could change very easily.
I was saying to a taxi driver the other day that, even though it was cold, snowy, haily and slushy this winter it was nice to have four seasons.
"As long as we could get a summer" he quickly replied.
That's still a long time off - but let's just enjoy this burst of sunny days and warmer weather that we've been getting.
