Mayhem on Main Street

Main Street

There was mayhem at the bottom of Lower Main Street in Moville over the last few days.

It was like going down a 'black run' on the ski slope for some drivers.

One driver looked as if he was trying to go down the stairs on the River Row.

Signs Down

Another attempted to turn to go into the car park at Gillen's shop but instead slid all the way down Main Street and took out the River Bredagh sign at the bottom.

Now, last night or this morning, someone has taken out the Yield sign at the bottom of main street near the steps at the River Row.

The sign has come off and the pole is now at about a 15% degree angle to the ground.

Dent

Some local people have left their cars downtown and walked home - and then they've come back and found their cars pranged without anyone leaving a message on the car taht they did it.

One local woman parked her car opposite Gillen's car park and walked home leaving the car there for a few days.

When she came back someone had dented it probably when they were backing out of the car park.

Ice Rink

The road going across from the steps of the River Row to the Corner bar on Quay Street has been like an ice rink for the past few days and was almost impossible to get across for pedestrians.

The thaw is not predicted to really take effect until midday on Friday.

Until then it is Mayhem in Moville.
