Martin Farren

Martin Farren came from several hundred votes back and from ninth place after the first round to win a stunning victory in the Council elections.

He took the final seventh seat in Donegal Council over Paul Canning of Fianna Fail.

He was 346 votes behind after the first Count and in 9th place.

With two redistibutions to go he was just 1 vote behind but won by 39 votes.

Where Martin came good was in second preference votes.

He's Won

It has just been announced that Martin has won and Paul Canning has conceded (unofficiallly).

It's great news that Moville still has a councillor after Marian McDonald's defeat.

Martin has been trying for a long time to get elected and has suffered two previous defeats.

It must be very satisfying to get elected after being so far behind after the first count.

Moville will be delighted to still have a councillor.

I'm sure Martin will do a great job for Moville and for Donegal.
