DylanFest

The first meeting of the DylanFest took place in Rosatos on Thursday night.

Attending were the owners of Maguires, Rawdons, McGettigans and Rosatos.

Another definite is the Caiseal Mara (ex-McNamaras Hotel) although they couldn't attend the meeting.

Probables and Possibles

Other pubs who have said that they want to take part (and this has to be confirmed) are the Bar-A-Cuda, the Town Clock and the Foyle Hotel.

The Waterfront are also considering it.

Bigger Than Last Year

So, it looks as if there will be at least as many pubs taking part this year as there were last year, when there were six.

There are 5 definites, 3 probables and 1 possible.

Start Bookings

The go ahead was given to start booking the bands for the DylanFest.

The costs of bringing the bands and acts over form places like Italy, Germany, Belgium, England and Wales were discussed and it was agreed that the pubs would bear some of the cost but not all of it and that some extra advertising income would need to be obtained.

Into Action

So, it's all systems go for the DylanFest.

Some bookings have already been taken by local accommodation owners.

All the indications are that Ireland's only DylanFest will be even bigger than the inaugural one last year.
