Bouncy Castle

Moville's children woke up this morning and many of them made their way down to Bath Green in front of Montgomery Terrace to get a look at the fairground and the Bouncy Castle.

However, to their obvious disappointment someone had crept down on the moonlit night and slashed the Bouncy Castle and the other blow up rides.

Sabotage

It was being speculated by the Fairground people themselves that if it had been local youngsters on a prank then they would have probably made a few knife cuts in it.

However, they said that it looked as if it was done in such a way as to put it beyond repair.

Someone took a knife and made big slashes all the way around the bottom.

You can see from the first picture some fairground workers holding one place where it was slashed together so that they could test whether the front bit could be pumped up.

Any Witnesses?

Perhaps some of the youngsters who like to frequent Bath Green late at night for their lubrication activities might have seen the culprit on the moonlit night?

Unfortunately, the new laws came in at midnight last night which made their activities illegal.

Assessment

The first assessment was that it was irrepairable.

However, a few calls were made around and they are looking to see if anything can be done.

A local businessman is going to try and help them to repair it - but the problem is that the cuts were so extensive that they may not have enough plastic tape to be able to repair it.

The children of Moville will be hoping that they can.

Peak Time

This Moville's peak tourist time of the year.

This is when the most visitors come to the town to enjoy all the events in the Moville Summer Festival which replaced the long established Sea Angling Week.

It is the time when ex-residents of Moville come back from all over the world and renew old acquaintences.

We will keep you informed and up to date on whether it can be repaired or not.
