St Swithin's Day

They say that if it rains on St. Swithin's Day that it will rain for 40 days.

It wasn't looking great all day but it had held out till around 2:30pm.

Then it bucketed down.

Not Great

St. Swithin seems to know something as the forecast isn't great.

The 14-day forecast shows there's going to be 9 rainy days and 5 overcast days.

June was good and the first half of July was OK.

We could call that one a draw.

However, the 2nd half doesn't look great unless the forecast changes round rapidly.

August

It'll be down to August as to whether we have a successful summer.

August will be the tiebreaker month.

To see Moville's weather forecast click on Weather on the left hand side of this page or the Hone Page.

Stop Press 16/7/10

The forecast has changed round completely.

After three days of wet weather (sorry to those off only at the weekend) the weather turns round on Monday with 8 sunny days, 4 overcast days and no rainy days in the next 12 days.

Let's hope this forecast holds and our summer is rescued.

We need a bit of rain - as long as it all falls together and then disappears again.
