Confirmation Weekend
Confirmations will take place this weekend after Mass on Sunday.
There has been the usual scrabble to book scarce restaurant seats.
There are fewer and fewer restaurant seats in the town and the fact that it is on a Sunday is compounding the problem as it is the restaurants' busiest day anyway.
Restaurant Search
People are searching for bookings further and further out of town.
Of course Confirmations are not all about eating and making merry but it has become a standard part of the celebration of the day.
Prom Night
It's not got as bad as the First Communions which have become, in some places, a cross between a fashion parade and Prom Night with a First Communion Fair taking place in Derry where limousine, fashion, hairdressing and beauty firms are advertising their wares.
At least they don't yet have a First Communion Queen paraded around the town on a float - but that may not be too far off.
