All Change

It's a real merry-go-round in Moville at thhe moment as far as the pubs and restaurants are concerned.

Let's list what is happening:-

1. The Town Clock is shut. When it opens up shortly it is not going to continue with its late night licences on a Friday and Saturday night.

It is going to concentrate on food more.

They may have Traditional Music on a Saturday night, like the Keltic Ramblers, although they are more rebel than traditional.

2. Duxie has taken over Susie's Bar. Goodness knows what his plans are.

3. The Indian Restaurant, Karma, Moville's only Indian Restaurant, is shut.

I'm told that there are problems with the sewerage. I'm also told that Jackie Holmes intends to open another one on another premises.

4. The Waterfront Bar is shut for renovation.

The big change here is that the bar will be in a different position.

It was thought, I would say correctly, that the bar took up too much of the bar.

It's also though that the Waterfront may apply for late licences now that the Town Clock is no longer going to have them.

5. Terry's / The Eggman / Bar-A-Cuda is now The Claddagh and is being leased from Mike Murphy.

It has been given a lick of paint both inside and outside and bands have been booked.

6. Rosatos has now decided to have music on for all three weekend nights rather than just Saturday nights.

Sunday night will see a regular slot for the popular singer from Tennessee, Justin Black, playing an Open Mic acoustic session with talented people in Moville invited up to play.

It's interesting times.
