TradFest
It was a quietish start to the TradFest last night in Rosatos and Rawdons with perhaps more people at Rawdons to see Cecilia Keaveney team up with Paddy McLaughlin for a seisun.
It was busier than Friday nights recently in Rosatos but not a full crowd by any means.
I think, at this time of the year, and in the current economic climate, most people aren't likely to turn out for both nights of a festival.
Also, the GAA's big weekend last weekend of Stricly Come Dancing may have drained pockets a bit.
Enjoyable
In saying that, it was a very enjoyable night.
Cecilia was enjoying the seisun so mcuh up at Rawdons that it wasn't till on that she made it down to Rosatos.
There she joined a threesome which included Ciaran Carlin form the Creggan where Cecilia used to teach - although it was an all-girls school where she taught - St. Mary's.
Champion
Ciaran is the All-Ireland champion on the flute and it was noticeable that they played around him.
Also playing was Seamus Cradden who is a member of the Jordanstown Traditional Music Society where Cecilia did her Masters in Music.
A big night is expected tonight, the Saturday night of the TradFest.
