Rosatos

Rosatos has been rated top pub in Ireland by www.RateMyPub.ie and deservedly so.

However, it is as a restaurant that I'm going to review it here.

I don't know why I haven't before as I eat here more than anywhere else.

Food Type

The food is Irish / Italian. This tradition started many years ago when the owner was a Belfast man with a part Italian background called Rosato.

They do a good line in Pizzas.

It's easy to say that they have the best pizzas in town specially as they have the only ones.

However, you would have to look hard to outdo their pizzas. I especially like the Spicy Chicken.

Excellent Ambience

It has a very inviting interior has Rosatos and an excellent place to enjoy a meal.

It is very relaxed and great if you have children.

It is basically good food at a good price.

You don't have to wait too long either. Ten to Fifteen minutes is about the norm with perhaps a little longer at the weekends when it is busy.

Relaxed

It is very popular during the week too as it is the kind of place where you don't feel that you have to dress up to go to and it is at the price where if you don't fancy cooking as you've had a busy day you can just take the family up and feed them there.

It's a good crowd that go there to eat.

Whereas some other restaurants in Moville get more visitors to the town as customers, Rosatos tends to get a lot of those people who have come to the town to live as well as local people.

The Food

My 9-year old son Robbie claims that Rosatos have the best lasagne in the whole world.

I particularly like the Rosatos Hotpot.

If I have any criticism at all of the Italian related food it is that I find it to have too much garlic - but then I don't like garlic and can only take it in small well-hidden doses.

I'm sure many people would see this as a plus.

The Standards

They do a decent fish and chips and cheese burger with chips.

The Cajun Chicken is very good too and I can also recommend the Thai Green Curry.

They do a good vegetable soup as a starter and I also like their Potato Wedges too. My wife, being American, likes the Seafood Chowder.

Desserts

Their desserts aren't too extensive but my son Robbie loves their Hot Choclolate Fudgecake with Ice Cream.

I have suggested to the owner, Eddie Harkin, that they should have a more extensive wine menu and that is something that he may take on board.

You can see their full menu here Rosatos Menu

Ratings

If I had to give it ratings for various categories it would be:-

Setting - *****
Atmosphere - *****
Food Quality - ****
Price - ****
Waiting time - ****
Service - *****
Presentation - ***
Wine - **

That gives it an average of exactly 4 stars.

Regulars

I don't think that you'll be disappointed with a meal at Rosatos and you certainly won't be seriously out of pocket.

Most of those who eat there go there regularly so I think that tells you something.
