DylanFest, Moville Programme of Events

Musicians

Al Diesan & Pino Tocco from Italy

Al Diesan. from Sardinia, has played Dylan in Austria, New York, Holland and in Milan. According to local musician Paddy McLaughlin he is the best Dylan that he has seen. He and Pino Tocco were the huge successes of last year and now they are back again. Make sure you see them. See here for further details.

Slow Train Band

Slow Train band are from Milan in Italy. They played the main square in Moville in DylanFest 2008. They took three days to get here by camper van across Europe and three days to get back. They are an excellent Dylan band. They only managed to play one hour f their 3-hour Dylan set as we were running behind but we'll hear the full 3 hours this year.

Jacques Mees

Jacques is the organiser of the Dutch DylanFest in Tilberg where Al Diesan and Pino Tocco topped the bill. A top class Dylan performer on the European circuit. He won 3rd place in Dylan Radio's search (out of more than 100) to find the Best Dylan Cover Act in the world losing in the semis to the eventual winner. See more details here

Paddy McLaughlin from Moville

Paddy has been the most successful musican and singer on the Moville circuit for many years now. He it was, in his role of musician and teacher, who brought up a couple of generations of Dylan loving pupils in the town which was the inspiration for the DylanFest in Moville in the first place.

Mickey ‘The Hat’ Roberts from Wales

Mickey will be playing at the DylanFest for the 4th time. He has also played the Manchester Dylanfest twice. He will be playing at the Open Mics and in short slots at other gigs such as in Rosatos on the Saturday night.

String Fellas

Top act form Derry, they have become very popular in Moville.

John Bradley

John is from Engalnd and now lives in Buncrana. He was featured in the Inishowen Independent. He will be playing on most nights at the festival and at the Open Mics and will play a full gig in McGettigan's on the Saturday night.

Billy McInnes

Troubador from down the country who played the Bar-a-Cuda last year at the DylanFest.

Buddy Checker & The Smokin Elbows (Gary Teer)

Plays the Belfast circuit. Organised the Dylan Night in Kelly's Cellars in Belfast.

Spring Tides

Great young talents from Moville who have been getting better with every performance.


Speakers

Tony Bramwell

Tony Bramwell was the Beatles Road Manager through all the crazy years and was a childhood friend of George Harrison and Paul McCartney. He will be showing a film of his early pop videos of the Beatles for which he won an award from MTV as a pioneer of pop video. It will be shown at the Sean Ti in Greencastle on Friday night in a break in Slow Train Band's set.
