CraicOn cracking on

CraicOn

CraicOn is really cracking on these days in terms of numbers of people visiting the website each day.

Currently 352 people visit CraicOn each day - which is pretty good considering that Moville's population is only 1,465 at the last Census.

Focused

It's made a big difference since we upped the number of articles per day.

It just shows you that people want focused news.

How many times do you see people flicking past the Buncrana and Carn news to get to the Moville news when reading local newspapers.

Hobby

I've treated it just as a hobby and to help generate publicity for the festivals I run.

I've never even tried to get advertising for it.

However, it may be time now to spread it around and roll it out nationally.

Roll Out

What I would like to do is to roll out to places like Carn and Buncrana and other places across Inishowen first - if I can find the right people to run CraicOn for those areas.

The next step would be to take it to a major city like Derry.

I've already spoken to a few people in Derry who think it will do well there.

Right People

It's all about getting the right people though.

I think, though, that the concept is proved.

Now, I'll see if I can make some money out of it.
