Corner Bar

The Corner Bar has gone on the market.

I heard this a few days ago but I was more than a bit cautious about putting it up.

I heard it was for sale 4 or 5 years ago and put the article up when CraicOn was just new.

It turned out to be a hoax that they weren't best pleased with.

I took it off as soon as I found out but the damage was done.

No Hoax

However, I've heard from quite a few sources, and reliable ones at that, that it really is for sale this time.

It's in a great spot as people come into town from the direction of Derry - which is where most people enter Moville.

John has always kept it very well and it gives a good image of the town as people enter it.

In summer there are always baskets of hanging flowers.

Potential

I would say that there is a lot of potential there.

For a start there is always a busy Saturday night where music mainly of a country variety is performed.

There is also the Bed and Breakfast.

DylanFest

They've never been part of it but I've always thought it would be a great place for the DylanFest.

It would be especially good during the day.

One can imagine whiling away the time on a sunny afternoon listening to one of the festival performers playing Dylan music.

With the Clipper Race next year in Greencastle and Derry's City of Culture the following year expected to bring an extra 2m visitors that year to Derry, it could turn out to be a good investment for somebody.
