Brits
According to the latest census there are 112,548 British people living in Ireland.
That's the most of any foreign nationality.
There's a lot of talk of Poles and Eastern Europeans in Ireland but there are twice as many British people living in Ireland as Poles.
In fact there are more British people living in Ireland than the nest four biggest foreign populations, Poles, Lithuanians, Nigerians and Latvians, put together.
Carn
The biggest percentage population of Brits is in Kinsale which has a British population of 9%.
The nest biggest is Killorgin, Co Kerry with 8%.
Then, believe it or not, the nest biggest population of Brits in he whole of Ireland is Carndonagh, Co. Donegal.
It seems that 6% of Carn's population is British.
A Hundred Strong
As the 2002 census showed Carn with a population of 1673, that would mean that there are about 100 British people living there.
I must say that I was surprised at Carndonagh's population.
I had thought it was smaller than Moville's but Moville's population is 1,465 according to the census which is 208 less than Carn's.
Who would have thought that Carn was a bigger and more important town than Moville.
