Too Late
The thaw has come but it is too late for some of our feathered friends.
The bodies of dead birds, especially thrushes, litter the Green and shore walk.
They couldn't get any worms or other food from a frozen earth covered with layers of snow and ice.
That combined with the cold has had a devastating effect on them.
It is mainly dead thrushes that can be seen.
