Anyone fancy a RocktoberFest again?

RocktoberFest

We had a RocktoberFest last year to try and brighten up the period after the festivals are over and Christmas.

It was too long a period without some fun - although there is, of course, Halloween.

The idea was that we would get some of the best acts from the TradFest, BeatlesFest and DylanFest to perform at it.

Mixed Success

Last year the RocktoberFest was a big success on the Saturday night but there weren't enough people out on the Friday and Sunday to call it a big success all over.

It wasn't a big enough success to put it on again this year.

However, it is a long time till Christmas.

Bank Holiday

Looking at the calendar there is a bank holiday weekend at the end of October.

The 31st is the bank holiday Monday.

It is also Halloween.

Should it be on the same weekend as Halloween or on the weekend before?

When would people celebrate Halloween?

Would it be on the Saturday, Sunday or Monday?

Clash

If we had the Rocktoberfest on the same weekend would it clash with it or enhance it?

There's also the fact that Jacques Mess, the big success of this year's DylanFest, will be coming back for a tour of Derry and district in the last week of October (organised by Mark of Stringfellas) and we might be able to get him for a gig or two in Moville.

On the other side of the coin I'm not sure of I should be doing this.

The other festivals take more of my time than I can afford (and often my cash).

I'm not sure of I want to do it or not - but it is a long time till Christmas.....

Let Me Know

What about you?

Have you had enough of fun and festivals till December?

If you see me out and about let me know what you think or just email me.

if you want to help - even better.
