Anchor

The Anchor Bar / Hair of the Dog will open again this weekend - but it will be only for the day.

And it will only be for teas an coffees etc.

The alcohol licence has been sold off.

Rowing Club

The reason that it will be open again is for the big day that the Foyle Punt Association are organising on Saturday.

They have invited teams of rowers from other clubs to compete against them.

There will be teams from Rowing Clubs from Teelin, Culmore Point and bunbeg.

They will be using the Anchor as a clubhouse for the day with teas, coffees, sandwiches etc.

American

Also, a representative of the American Embassy in Dublin will be coming for the 2nd year in a row.

The connection is the death of the five American Sullevan Brothers which caused the law to be changed that prevents so many brothers going out together.

One of the boats that the Foyle Rowing Club use is called the Sullevan Brothers which was launched last year.

It sounds like a good day out and a great opportunity to use The Anchor for one last time.
