Bitcoin Blackmail Attempt

I got the following Email. I’ll comment on it immediately afterwards.

“I know XXXXXXXX is your pass. Lets get directly to purpose. You don’t know me and you are most likely thinking why you’re getting this e-mail? No-one has compensated me to investigate you.

actually, I installed a malware on the 18+ video clips (porn) web-site and there’s more, you visited this web site to have fun (you know what I mean).

When you were viewing video clips, your browser initiated functioning as a RDP that has a key logger which provided me access to your display screen and cam. Immediately after that, my software program collected every one of your contacts from your Messenger, Facebook, and e-mailaccount.

And then I created a double video. 1st part shows the video you were watching (you’ve got a good taste lol), and next part displays the recording of your webcam, yeah its u.

You will have two different choices.

We will analyze these solutions in aspects:

1st choice is to ignore this email message.

As a result, I am going to send out your very own videotape to every one of your contacts and thus consider regarding the awkwardness you can get.

Or if you happen to be in an important relationship, precisely how it will eventually affect?

Next solution should be to give me $1000.

We are going to name it as a donation.

In this scenario, I will straightaway delete your videotape.

You will keep going on daily life like this never happened and you will not hear back again from me.

You’ll make the payment through Bitcoin (if you don’t know this, search for “how to buy bitcoin” in Google).

Should you are thinking about going to the cops, anyway, this mail cannot be traced back to me.

I have taken care of my steps. I am not looking to ask you for very much, I would like to be compensated.

You have one day to make the payment.

I’ve a unique pixel within this email message, and at this moment I know that you have read through this email message.

If I do not receive the BitCoins, I will certainly send your video recording to all of your contacts including members of your family, co-workers, and so on.

However, if I do get paid, I’ll destroy the recording right away.

If you really want evidence, reply Yup then I will send your video recording to your 11 contacts.

This is the non:negotiable offer that being said do not waste my time and yours by replying to this mail.”

As you may have worked out this is obviously a scam.

However, some people would not know this.

I read somewhere that most people have visited porn sites even if just out of curiosity.

Therefore when an email comes in like this they may believe that they have really been ‘outed’ as a porn site visitor.

Some of hose would be panicked into sending off the money to avoid being ‘outed’ to their family and friends.

Website Hacker

The person did know my name.

The password he quoted at the beginning (which I x’ed out) is not my password.

However, it is one that I have used several times when joining other non-porn websites.

What is likely to have happened is that this person has hacked into a website that I joined and got my name and email address from that website.

Luckily it is not a website where I have entered my card details or he would just have taken the money.

Video Details

However, he has worked out that, as most people have visited porn websites, that if he told them that he has video details of them watching porn then at least some of the people may think that he really has them videoed watching porn and that he will really expose him or her to their families and friends.

He has probably sent this out to all the people who’s details he has hacked.

He is betting that at least some of them have watched porn sites and will believe that they have to send him $1,000 to stop him contacting his family and friends with the video.

First Blackmail Installment

Of course, that would just be the first installment.

He is obviously sending loads of these out as I got another one from him a few days later almost exactly the same but asking for $5,000.

If anyone else gets one of these emails yo can safely ignore it.

It might be worth letting other people know about this too – just in case.

Incidentally the email address it was sent from has a suffix for .jp which is Japan.
