I’m not one to go pamper myself on a regular basis, but all that might just be about to change, thanks to a new local business here in the village: Reflexologise with Michelle has recently opened above Halo Hair in Muff. I went along to visit this morning not really knowing what to expect. I left my Friday morning treatment in Michelle’s capable hands. Having known Michelle for a number of years, I felt comfortable putting my trust in her.

As I walked upstairs this morning I was greeted with a lovely scent filled ambiance and a very warm welcome from the lady herself. Michelle sat me down and told me about the treatments she has to offer – Reflexology to Indian Head massage. Michelle did reflexology on my wee feet quite a few years ago, and although I HATE anyone touching my feet, I was pleasantly surprised with the treatment she gave me that night – maybe the wine had helped but I certainly enjoyed it. So today, she told me she was introducing me to an Indian Head massage.

When she asked me to take off my top and bra, I thought, ‘what the hell?’. I needn’t have worried. What followed was the most wonderful, relaxing massage from the lower back to the entire head. It was so calming and relaxing I really did want to lay there all day. And all the while I was listening to the waves crashing on the sand. No, I wasn’t dreaming, I really was in the village, and yet those waves were so soothing. Such was the music Michelle had playing in the background.

As my treatment came to an end I realised that I, like many others, don’t take enough time out for the ‘self’. This experience today with Michelle made me realise that I need that all important ‘time-out’ from the busy schedule that is ‘life’.

I left Michelle’s beautiful treatment room today ready to take on a very busy day ahead. And it really did help prepare me for that day.

Michelle’s treatment room is warm and inviting. Her natural colours just allow one to feel at home on arrival. I really did want to stay. But she too had a busy day ahead. So it was with a determination to return that I did take my leave.

Michelle is a wonderful therapist and I really wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her to anyone. Just take that all important ‘me time’ and pay her a wee visit. You really won’t be disappointed.
