We’ve all heard of ‘Battle of the Bands’ but now it’s ‘Battle of the Mayoral Candidates’. It’s been a few years since we’ve had a real ‘head to head’ Mayoral fight in the village but that’s just what we have this year. Luke McCorkell and Niamh McColgan are fundraising at present in the race to become Mayor of Muff 2017.
Both candidates are raising funds for some outstanding charities. Niamh is raising monies for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie and The Donegal Cancer Bus. Luke is raising funds for Pieta House. Both Luke and Niamh have held a number of events to date which have helped raise much needed money for all charities.
Just last Sunday they joined forces and hosted a Sunday Bike/Scooter run across Inishowen. A host of bikes left The Squealing Pig shortly after lunchtime arriving back at the Squealing Pig just in time for ‘tea’. Thanks to The Border Cafe for the delicious food on arrival home.
The bikes traveled to Carndonagh, Glengad, Malin Head, Buncrana and back to Muff. Not a drop of rain was met en route.
