Children’s Creative Writing at Greencastle Centre
The WRITE STUFF Kids Club is now at Greencastle Centre every Tuesday afternoon from 4.15pm – 5.15pm. Workshops are suitable for children aged 7+. These workshops encourage children to explore their imagination, develop language and conversational skills, and develop story telling and story writing skills. All work is carried out in a fun, learning environment.
Children also give feedback on a story or poem each week. Thereby encouraging their critical thinking and forming own opinions on a piece of writing. Story cubes are also used at each workshop where children are encouraged to tell a story from a selection of images. This exercise allows the children to think on the spot and create a story very quickly, thereby building their confidence and also their presentation skills. Children are covering a variety of learning skills whilst having fun with words.
Workshops will run until Easter at present with a view of running until the summer time.
