It really is that time of year again. The time when all roads lead to Muff! Muff Festival 2016 preparations are well underway and will run from July 29th to August 1st. A great weekend as always will be in store. A few new events are also in the pipeline – watch this space.
As always the Festival kicks off with the opening parade. This will take place on the Friday evening and this year the theme of the parade will be ‘Cultural Diversity – The Olympics’. The 2016 Olympics will commence on 5th August so what better way to kick-start our festival than with this in mind.
If you’re part of a community group or an individual, why not use the parade as a platform to showcase your work and have a lot of fun doing so.
The festival committee have also suggested that locals go up against each other with the parade …can The Grove take on Craig Park? Can Kilderry take on Ard Ban? Maybe Iskaheen taking on Sappagh? The theme is all encompassing – Are you a football team – fancy being a bunch of golfers for the evening? Are you gymnasts – why not try on a footy strip of a country we’ve never heard of? Get thinking and get out and support your local festival – let’s see the street alive with colour!
This will be the 35th Muff Festival so let’s make it one to remember. Let’s show the world what a great community we really are here in this small village. And let’s make this festival bigger and better than ever before.
