Do Not Click on this Message from ‘Irish Water’
Message from Irish Water
I received this in my email this morning.
It immediately looked suspicious – especially as I don’t have an online account with Irish Water.
If I got the message then probably lots of other people would have got it.
Don’t even consider clicking on it if you get it.
It’s what’s called a Phishing Exercise and the point of it is to trick you into clicking on it.
Hidden Danger
I can’t tell you exactly what this danger is as I didn’t click on it myself.
However, it could take you to some gambling or porn website and log your details with it so they contact you in future – or pages suddenly pop up every so often.
It could be that they are going to put some malware on your PC or some kind of virus.
So, whatever you do, don’t click on this if you get the email.
It is not from Irish Water.
