Carndonagh School Soccer Team

Carndonagh School pulled off an amazing win at the All-Ireland School Soccer Finals.

They were playing a team from Cork in the Final in Dublin today.

It’s the first time in 41 years that they have got to the final.

Indeed the last time they were in the final, in 1975, School Principal Paul Fiorentini was in the team.

Captain Lafferty

Led by captain 18-year-old Josh Lafferty, the Carn school took an early lead with a penalty.

However, just before half time the Cork team equalised.

It was 1-1 at half time.

Extra Time

There were no goals in the second half so it went to extra time.

Carndonagh got a thrilling winner in extra time to win 2-1 and take the trophy.

Captain Josh Lafferty, and maybe some of the team, will be out celebrating tonight at a party in The Clock in Moville.

Well done lads!
